Halfway into the campaign, most opinion polls give Widodo a healthy double-digit lead over Prabowo, as he is known locally. TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Spokesman for the Prabowo Subianto – Sandiaga Uno electoral campaign (BPN) revealed a number of elements that will be addressed by Prabowo in the second presidential election debate on environment issues held on February 17.

According to the spokesman Dian Fatwa, Prabowo plans to talk about optimizing environment-based economic optimization that refers to the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations (UN).

“The sustainable development goals in 2030 are mainly about how developments should not set aside environmental issues. The environment has never been quantified in dollars right?” said Dian in the BPN’s media center at Kebayoran Baru yesterday.

According to Dian, Prabowo’s vision is to conduct developments and economic activities without losing out to conservation lands. “Why introduce conservation lands if they can be restored,” said Dian.

Both Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno criticized the current administration for handling environmental issues in an ad hoc way heading to the presidential election.
